Words of Kindness

Ibbie is just great! She was professional and very approachable which quickly put me at ease. I was very comfortable with talking about my intimate pelvic floor issues as well as doing the exercises with her guidance. I will be going back after I deliver my second child to make sure I regain my body and everything stays where it should. I only wish I had found her sooner!

When I was around 6 months pregnant I began experiencing pain in my hips and tail bone. Ibbie was able to asses me and give me great exercises to help correct and strengthen the effected areas. She was so great to work with, she was gentle and very knowledgeable, she helped me see and understand things I was doing to cause my body to be out of sync. She made me feel very comfortable and I totally enjoyed working with her!

N.T.

Ibbie has a wealth of knowledge. She is an expert in her area of practice and I’m so thankful for all she does for me. Her professionalism and kindness sets her apart from other physiotherapists I have encountered.

Ibukun’s professional manner quickly put me at ease and her thorough assessment enabled her to design the right exercise plan for me.  She used a variety of teaching methods to help me learn the exercises and the results encouraged me to continue doing them.  After about four months of treatment, not only was I pain free, but I also gained a new, holistic awareness of my body.

I went to see Ibbie a month before the birth of my son and I’m so glad I did! Ibbie equipped me with knowledge and tools that were very practical (ie: how to do a proper kegel and perineal massage), and she also addressed the emotional and spiritual aspects of giving birth. After our session I felt so much more confident and mentally prepared for labour and delivery. I would definitely recommend her services to anyone expecting a baby. There are some things you just can’t learn from reading blogs.

I saw Ibbie for issues with my abdominal and pelvic floor muscles not healing correctly after the vaginal birth of my second child. These issues had likely existed since my first pregnancy and c-section with my daughter. Ibbie was excellent at assessing and identifying areas that needed healing and strengthening in order for me to get back into a great state of health. I am so grateful, that with her help I have healed properly and have been able to return to my full exercise routine. As women I think we tend to ignore issues we have with our pelvic health (such as incontinence) and just credit them as being a “normal part of childbirth”. But Ibbie has taught me that it’s not only possible, but important to heal properly so we can enjoy the life long benefits of a functional pelvic floor and core. I am so grateful for Ibbie’s knowledge, professionalism and coaching and I would recommend her services to any mama. I will continue to use the exercises and information she taught me for the rest of my life.

Ibbie takes what could possibly be an embarrassing or uncomfortable situation and turns it into a very professional and tremendously helpful experience. She is knowledgeable, professional and works with you to meet your goals. Her explanations are so clear and concise. Being a physiotherapist myself I learned much more than I ever expected. She has empowered me to take my pelvic health into my own hands which has been invaluable.

I will be forever grateful for my time with you. You made me welcomed, heard, comfortable, accepted, and your words and support gave me the gift of feeling empowered in my body and as a mother. And if you are reading this as someone considering pelvic floor physiotherapy, whether as a mama-to-be, or as a woman in any stage of life, I cannot recommend it enough!

I came across The Mama’s Physio from a workshop put on by a local church close to me. I attended and was absolutely blown away by the information given. I was diagnosed with vaginismus and an over active pelvic floor a few months earlier and was really struggling with how to get past it. Vaginismus is an involuntary tightening of the vaginal muscles, making sex or anything even like inserting a tampon or diva cup, pretty well impossible – and attempting any of it was incredibly painful. Ibbie offered phenomenal suggestions as to how women could get healing from so many issues, including mine. There are SO many and it really is heartbreaking.  No woman should have to live with pain with sex- and very few actually seek help!

I was 8 months pregnant when I attended the seminar and decided to make appointments with Ibbie postpartum to help with my vaginismus and pelvic floor health overall. My vaginismus is no more and I am so thankful to have come so far in finding healing! I’m so thankful for women like Ibbie who are willing to put themselves out there and educate women. We are not meant to live in pain !!!!

M.W.
Ibbie amazing! She met with me several weeks after I had given birth, and helped address my postpartum pelvic floor issues. I had had 2nd-degree tearing, and some of my stitches ripped open a few days later, prolonging my healing process, and causing tightness and pain when it came to intercourse. She was very professional, and yet, so easy to talk to and discuss my intimate concerns with.  Suffice it to say, my husband was also very thankful for the all time she spent working with me.
B.P.
I went for pelvic floor physio both while pregnant and after delivering my son. I credit it with why I never had any incontinence, was able to push so well in labour and with how quickly I healed. The staff are incredible and very welcoming. I highly recommend it for every pregnancy, totally worth the visit!

In a time with uncertainty and limited accessibility, it was comforting and so helpful to be able to have a virtual appointment and access to so much expertise! The virtual appointment was easy to book and “almost” like being in person. Professional, knowledgeable, caring, and reassuring; The Mama’s Physio is doing an incredible job!

M.H.

Working with Ibbie has been fantastic! She is extremely knowledgeable, her explanations and directions are concise, and she made an intimate topic comfortable to talk about. I have been working with Ibbie virtually because of the COVID19 crisis, and despite not being in the same room, Ibbie has been able to tackle many of my concerns, provide exercises that I have been able to do at home, and help me build my toolkit for working through my chronic pain and pelvic floor issues. I have learned so much from her, and am very glad to have met her.

J.N.

Ibbie, you are truly an exceptional physiotherapist and you helped me so much with my first birth.

A.H.

I am so grateful to have landed in your care. You have been such a blessing in all aspects of my postpartum healing, physical and emotional. I have no doubt that my much smoother recovery this time around is due to the fact that I was much more prepared physically and at peace with all possible outcomes mentally. You have made a world of difference in my life, so thank-you.
